Мов шаль, лягає ніч мені на плечі, Згасає десь у сутінках зоря... Безсилі тут і заколоти, й втечі, Коли душа до крапельки твоя. Тобі не скажуть ліхтарі про мене, Вони поснули, втомлені й сумні... Душа – штормів одвічна полонена, Тобою марить знову уві сні... Мовчить уже й понура темінь ночі, І шляхом зоряним лиш сум веде... Любов сміється всім пророцтвам в очі: То де ж обіцяна байдужість, де? Тут відповідь не знайдуть навіть зорі, Що не збагнуть любові таємниць... Щось нерозгадане у серці, неозоре, Тієї сили ти і справді бережись... Вона ж бо здатна й гори зруйнувати, Й покласти шлях посеред темноти, За розум вища здатність є – кохати, Й нема в моїй любові простоти...

I saw a dream, and there were you, And there was coldness in your eyes. I wonder what a kind of true Made you become as cold as ice. And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last. You looked at me, and peering in your soul, I felt so lonely, as something vital died. And that is what I fear most of all - That nothing gentle will remain inside. Inside of you.
