Chapter 7
Everything I wanted to say to him vanished at that time, there was nothing but an empty feeling and all I could think of was my dignity, I have self respect so I wasn't going to let one incidence traumatize me after all it's not like I would want to go out with him if I had the chance to, he might be someone I'm attracted to but that doesn't mean I want to be with him. For the first time I feel like I'm doing something at my own free will,everything I wanted is right in front of me and I'm not going to let this beautiful career I worked so hard for slip out of my hands because of one man.
As he walked towards me with his eyes still focused on me the pace of my heartbeat increased,
"let it go, let it go" I whispered to myself repeatedly.
The second he stood in front of me I let out a smile and began a conversation with him, I chose to let it go and mostly not bring up the story. It was as if nothing happened and we both agreed to move on from the situation, I am not so good at expressing my emotions to someone so when a problem arises it's either I have little or nothing to say at all. I know it's not the best way to solve problems but sometimes ignorance can fix certain problems or not.

Ever since that little incident took place things haven't changed that much, we still talk like we used to and are as close as we were, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to to still remain close friends.
I was at the grocery store when I suddenly I received a phone call from my boss demanding for my presence as soon as possible, I thought it was something serious cause the tone of his voice sounded like it, I immediately stopped my shopping and headed to the office with nothing but snacks and a cold cane of beer in the passenger's seat, though I was starving I couldn't help but wonder what was so urgent despite finishing my work at the office.

As soon as I entered his office I saw David sitting with his eyes focused on his iPad and Mr Thompson stood up to welcome me,
"sorry to call you on short notice but something came up and I need you and David to attend to it right away, I received a call from my fellow colleague and friend across the state and there is pretty interesting information I would like the both of you to work on, "
" why me? I do think I can do it and besides I..... "
" adeline, that is no excuse for you to reject this offer, you're no longer new here so you might as well start getting used to the system. I know why I chose you for this project so don't let me down. Everything has already been arranged all you need to do is pack your clothes and some files I'll give you including flight tickets, when you reach the aire you'll find someone waiting for you who'll later take you to a resort. Our clients this information as soon as possible so I hope you can get this work done in a couple of days, gather as much information as you can and I hope to see you this weekend. "
David didn't express any emotion and it was hard to tell what he was thinking at that time, I on the other hand was freaking out,couldn't Mr Thompson picked somebody else? Why did it have to be me? I should be worried about the project but that is not the case, I'm worried about spending 4 days with David and lately our relationship hasn't been all beds and roses, we've been stumbling about and just when I thought I could stand his site around me this might be the hardest test I've ever encountered.

The entire flight felt like eternity and I was so relieved that we reached our destination I couldn't wait to finally be away from him even if it meant for a few minutes cause been around him made me suffocate with burning desire that I had no control of. We both followed the man attending to us all the way to the last floor of the building and I was crossing my fingers behind my back hoping I was a few rooms apart from David's. Been here alone with no restriction can bring so much temptation and sinning and I know I'm not as strong as I consider myself to be.
The man led me to my room and as soon as the door was opened my jaw dropped and my eyes sunk in the beauty that was in front of me, this room looks amazing and I can't believe that somebody could be this creative to come up with such wonderful designs, it didn't look too lavish but the decoration was something that I've never seen before, it wasn't so modern, it had the late 80's 90's kind of design but yet pretty. David stood still with his arms crossing his chest as he watched me act like a kid who had just seen a big bowl of candy. The man just smiled and made a funny compliment that made me come back to my senses and look at David right away only to see him laughing about it.
"okay I think I need to be excused now"
I said as I walked up to the door to walk them out.
"don't you want to know where my room is?"
"no, I'll call you if I need anything"
I said as I shut the door in annoyance.
I unpacked a few of my clothes and headed to the bathroom, after a lot of minutes of bathing I wrapped myself in a white rob and threw myself on the big bounce bed to get some rest. Later on I was awaken by countless knocks on the door,still feeling sleepy I noticed that it was dark, I got up and went to open the door and I felt quite uncomfortable seeing David standing right in front of me. It's not yet morning and I don't recall calling him for help so what could he possibly want this time?
