THE LAST FEW DAYS
On 29th December, Sharun and Cathy boarded a train and went to a city. They reached the city on the evening of 30th December.
Sharun and Cathy took a room in the hotel. After taking a shower, Sharun left Cathy alone in the hotel and went out, to explore the city. After few hours, Sharun came back to the hotel at night and told Cathy that they are going to a place, she had never seen before.
31st December, 2018 morning.
Sharun took Cathy to an orphanage. The name of that orphanage was 'Holy angels home for the gifted'. The orphanage was massive, it looked like a palace. There was a big playing ground in front of the orphanage building, children were playing cricket and badminton there.
There were plants, perfectly trimmed and maintained, on the borders of the ground.
When Cathy went closer to the ground, she saw the behavior of the children were different that normal kids. She was confused and she looked at Sharun.
'Yes. They are different. They are autistic children.' said Sharun
Sharun cont'd 'Yesterday I came here and talked to Miss Elizabeth. Asked her for a full day appointment with her children.'
'Why?' asked Cathy
'I used to laugh, when people used to say Specially abled instead of disable. I thought, what can a name do. But, then I realized, just by removing' dis', we give them a reason to live. ' said Sharun
Sharun cont'd 'It's Holy Angels orphanage, one of its kind. They don't accept any donation and they don't even take any government benefits. They make their children, capable of earning. '
' How? ' asked Cathy
' It's better to hear it from Miss Elizabeth.' said Sharun
Sharun cont'd ' When we look at them, we realize, how lucky we are. We are filled with greed, we just want more. Everything we have is less. And look at them, seeing us makes them happy. Who are we? '
Cathy looked at Sharun and smiled.
'They are happy because they know, how to live like a human. Being....' said Cathy.
Cathy couldn't continue talking as her eyes filled with with tears and heart with guilt and pain.
'Let's go and meet miss Elizabeth. We have a lot of work to do.' said Sharun
Sharun and Cathy went inside the orphanage, to meet Miss Elizabeth.
