Самотня сніжна королева, вкрала юного Кая, в країну холодних дерев, із краєвидом пустель. Сліди замела – нічка тихая, скрипіли сани на снігу. Ніщо вже Кая і Герду не з'єднає. Ніщо вже не розстане на вітру. Під світло місяця ясного, - спаси мене люба Гердо. А Герда не чула нічого, крига застигла у серці. Вона все говорила з квітками, каркала у вухо птахам. Ніхто про Кая не знає Ніхто про нього не знав. Ріже в око уламок, серце стогне без стуків. - де той вихід із замку? - я вже не хочу тут бути. Герда мчить на олені - Тільки на мене чекай Я ніколи не забуду про тебе, і ти про мене не забувай...

I saw a dream, and there were you, And there was coldness in your eyes. I wonder what a kind of true Made you become as cold as ice. And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last. You looked at me, and peering in your soul, I felt so lonely, as something vital died. And that is what I fear most of all - That nothing gentle will remain inside. Inside of you. Inside of me as well. And nothing will be said to farewell.
