Мертві завжди хочуть стати живими: їм нудно без правил, без зайвих турбот, не так чудово бути вічними, коли бачиш з корабля лише борт. Їхня жага, жага до життя страшніша за темряву морських глибин. Віддадуть все: і душу, і тіло, аби на палубу знову повернутись живими. Їм байдужі всі чужі муки й страждання. Готові вбивати й вбивати, якщо здійсниться так їхнє заповітне бажання, якщо так почнуть щось відчувати.
