Scientific temperament
SCIENTIFIC TEMPERAMENT

The scientific temperament is the way of life which uses the scientific method and which may consequently include questioning, observing, physical reality, testing, hypothesizing, analyzing and communicating.

It tells us
Everything has a causal factor.
That cause is understandable.
Not all things have a known causal factor (at least yet) but science always tries to find the reason/causal factor behind the things/phenomenon by working on it in a humble way.
Scientific temperament is always humble and never declares the results to be final and perfect. Its always subject to the changes.
And this is the only way humanity has found till now which can give us the acceptable, logical knowledge.

Example - we now know that the small pox is not due to the curse of Goddess but due to the virus. And it was possible due to the science.

Science progresses in following steps:
Thinking
Questioning
Observing
Analyzing
Hypothesizing
Testing
Criticizing and re-questioning
Conclusion

Neil DegGrasse Tyson says-
Test ideas by experiment and observation
Build on those ideas that pass the test
Reject the ones that fail
Follow the evidence whatever it leads to and question everything.
Accept these terms and cosmos is yours!

Whatever knowledge the humanity has gained is gained only by going through these steps- knowingly or unknowingly. There is no other logical, acceptable and reliable source of knowledge.
Yes, imagination can give you the ignition, a spark to think but to explain it you have to follow above steps only. Unlike as said in many religious holy books, asceticism, dispassion can never be the source of reliable knowledge.

This scientific temperament is so useful that its included in the constitution of India in article 51A (h) as It is a fundamental duty of every Indian citizen to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform

So its duty and not the social service of any Indian citizen to spread it. According to this no one can stop you to question on anything, any religious book, tradition, etc.

To prevent physical and mental exploitation and to promote social progres or for the progress of civilization the scientific temperament is very important and essential.

Scientific temperament is a must and most important factor in elimination of caste and religion, the root of various problems in our society, as mere thinking about various things in a logical way will give rise to questions and logical answers to those questions will help make better understanding about the things. Eventually it will make individual independent of the concepts like God and religion.
A true atheist thus will reject the concepts of caste, religion, discrimination on the basis of gender (including transgender) or economic class, race, skin colour, etc. and not just the concept of God.

Scientific perspective and logical thinking about various religious concepts will give  rise to many obvious questions.
Examples-
About Varah avatar of Lord Vishnu, they say he saved earth from drowning in the sea. But in which sea earth was going to drown?
Earth is placed on the head of Snake called Sheshnaga. But where that snake is standing?
Bible says, God created the sun and the moon on 4th day. But how did they know those four days passed?
As Lord Hanuman had power to become as big as he want why did not he stretched his hand to Shrilanka to take the army of Lord Rama to the other side? Or if he could lift mountain and fly, why didnt he carry Lord Ramas army to other side of the sea instead of building bridge of rocks in the sea?
