А він один, у цілім світі, Живе без ласки і тепла, Без материнської любові, і Без батьківського плеча. В його очах, горить надія Побачити нове життя, Сказати вперше, слово:"Мама, Відчуй моє серцебиття." Я завітав у дит будинок, Де жив маленький сирота, І він зустрів мене привітно, Із криком: " Люди..., Люди.., Так.., УРА!" Ми довго гралися, сміялись, Мені він казку розказав, І вже почав читати вірша, Й на слові "Мама"- замовчав. Я був не в силі пояснити, Що означають ті слова Й тремтячим голосом, крізь сльози, Промовив тихо :"Вже пора". Й тоді настала мить розлуки, Я повернутись обіцяв, Й він протягнув до мене руки, І міцно-міцно обійняв. В ту мить, усе перевернулось, А по щоці стекла сльоза. Я зрозумів, що значить-сам, Я зрозумів, що значить-сирота. Якщо тобі бува погано, й ти нарікаєш на життя, Згадай, як мучиться в цім світі, Маленький хлопчик-сирота.
