Maxwell was found dead near the railway station. There was a deep cut on his neck, main cause of death. Yesterday, after the interrogation, he went straight to the pub. He spent the whole day drinking and on his way back home, he was murdered.
Mint City railway station, is deserted during the nights. No one dares to go there at night but, Maxwell went there. Don't know if he went there or did someone drag his body and dumped it.
I thought it might be Maxwell who killed Megan and Emily and he was playing around, but I was wrong.
I went back to my desk. I looked at the photographs of Megan and Emily and something strikes me. 'I have seen it before. I have seen them, I know them' my mind said.
I searched on the internet about murders happened in the past few months. After scrolling through few pages, I found what I wanted. 'Mr. Smith's Family Murder.' I clicked on the link, a pdf opened.
Smith Winston, 57 years and Caroline Smith, 55 years were found dead in their vacation home in Sunshill. Their bodies were positioned on the floor like an 'I'. Anna, 14 years old was found dead upstairs, in the bedroom. She was beheaded and her head was found in the dustbin. She was the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. She has been living with them since 2014, after her parents death.
I took a copy of that pdf and showed it to Scott. He read it and we both felt the same. There's a link between these two murders. They share some similarities.
It was already seven in the evening. Rachel might be waiting for me. I texted her 'I'm going to New York with Scott. I'll be home by tomorrow. Sorry, love.'
