THINGS AREN'T AS NORMAL AS IT SEEMS II
Varun met few more newspapers but, everyone rejected his article. It was the first time, Varun had experienced rejection from all the major newspapers in Maharashtra. He was confused and started thinking about working on some other article. But, his mind was chained to it. The more he tried to escape from that article, the tighter those chains became.

So, as a last attempt, Varun decided to meet Ashutosh Gaikwad, chief editor of Daily Maratha, a local newspaper.

INT. Daily Maratha newspaper's office.

Varun met Mr. Ashutosh in the office reception. They went to the cafeteria to have a cup of coffee.

INT. Cafeteria.

Varun and Ashutosh were sitting on the opposite sides of a six seater table.

'I worked for some of the major newspapers. I did an article about the PWD for' The Time'. '       said Varun.

Ashutosh took a sip of coffee.

' Hmm.. I don't want to hear about your past works. You said you have an article, tell me about that. '      replied Ashutosh.

' Yeah'     said Varun, by taking out a folder out of his bag.

Varun cont'd      'I'm working on the missing of almost 50 people in Mumbai. Most of them come under the age group 20-60.'

Ashutosh looked at the folder.

'What is that?'     asked Ashutosh, by hiding his curiosity under his blank face.

'These are the missing poster and some base work I did.'      replied Varun.

'Okay. So you think....there's some hidden mystery behind it.'        asked Ashutosh.

Varun nodded.

'And it got rejected by almost all major newspapers.'        said Ashutosh.

'Yes.'      replied Varun.

'This news, doesn't have any value. Though we say that, journalism is about bringing out the truth, we are basically working to make money.'       said Ashutosh.

Ashutosh cont'd        'We need news that brings money. We need news that increases the sale.'

'Okay.'     replied Varun, by keeping the folder in his bag.

Ashutosh smiled.

'You continue working on this article. And if you could really pull something off, we will definitely buy it.'      replied Ashutosh.

Varun thanked him for the coffee and left the office.
