Сплітаю в коси радість й тугу, сплітаю смуток й втіху. Коли болить, мовчу. Кажу собі:"Ти дихай. Усе мине. Пройде, забудеться і стихне." Самообман. Пам'ять не затихне! Вона ночами явиться думками. І я плету косу тремтливими руками. Десь за селом завиє вовк на місяць срібний. Ніч — це його мати рідна. Сплелась журба з любов'ю сивиною. Я досі згадую і плачу за тобою, мій вірний друже. Я дочекаюся хвилини, коли засну вічним сном у домовині, і ми зустрінемося знову, на небесах. Як добре, що ти не бачиш весь цей жах. Тобі тепер спокійно. А я страждаю, та живу. Сплела косу. Зустрічі діжду...
