"Alchemy, spells, philosopher stones and magical spirits. I know that these things in your world are called fantasy. But in my world these things exist. I never wanted to have any relation with them at all. And up until now I was doing pretty well, but life's a big, fat bitch. I'm not a hero, neither a legend. And don't get me wrong this isn't a story of redemption and stuff like that. This is just a story about a teenager trying to live his new life. Or so I thought..."

The birds were singing and the sun was shining. The sun had risen and it was about 7:30 in the morning. The loud sound of the alarm ringing made it's way inside Michael's ears, causing him to wake up. "Huh...? It's already morning...? I But I’m only sleeping for 3 minutes…" He said stretching his arm in order to reach his phone and turn off the alarm. He got up from his bed with a powerful yawn stretching out his arms in the air. He looked at the calendar and realized it was his first day at his new school. "Oh come on..." He spelled out walking towards the bathroom.

He washed his face and then he looked at it through the mirror. His bright crimson red hair was totally out of place and his yellow eyes looked really sleepy. His hair wasn't naturally red, but due to the incident he now looks like a 90s rapper. He had his hair medium length on top as it fell sideways above his forehead and his sides shaved. He had a helix piercing on his left ear wearing a small black ear ring. His face was slim, his cheekbones were right under his eyes and his jaw line was defined.

He brushed his white teeth and took a shower swiftly. After the shower he dried his hair and wore his new school uniform. A white shirt pairing up with a red tie and a black jacket on top. Black tight chino pants and a pair of brown dress shoes. The teenager run downstairs quickly grabbing the breakfast that was on the table gulping it down. He turned his gaze at his new houses' living room to see a little girl sleeping on the couch wearing an apron. "Thanks Stephanie. I'll be leaving now." He said to her stroking his sister's black hair. "It's already 8:15! THE BUS IS GONNA LEAVE!" He shouted as he closed the door behind him and started running. He kept on running to the bus station but seconds after he had reached it the bus passed him by. "OH FUCK! COME ON! WAIT UP!" He shouted raising his left hand because his right hand was occupied keeping hold of his bag. The bus stopped at the station but left before Michael  could enter. The teenager sat on the bus station trying to catch his breath disappointed. "Wonderful... Just wonderful!" He shouted out loud.

With almost half an hour of delay Michael  finally made it to his school. He ran all around the school in order to find his classroom. It was room B3 on the ground floor of the first building. He looked through the window and saw a big classroom with a staircase that had 4 desks on every stair. "First of all I'd like to make it clear that..." The teacher was saying when Michael slammed the door open. "Uhmm... Sorry for being late?" He said in a tone that resembled a question. "Are you mister King by any chance?" The teacher asked. "Yeah. that's me!" The teenager replied. "Very well, then. Since you're new here I will overlook the fact that you're half an hour late and let's hope that it will never happen again. I'll be you're teacher from now on, just so you know. You can call me Mr. Roberts." The man with the short black hair and green eyes who was wearing a black suit said. "Thank you Mr.. Roberts. It won't happen again!" He said looking serious. "Are you not going to introduce yourself to your fellow classmates?" The professor asked. "Oh yeah. My name is Michael King. It's nice to meet you all. I hope we can get along!" He said smiling. All kinds of whispers could be heard from the students. "Very well Michael, you may sit." Mr. Roberts said. "Where should I sit then?" He asked. "Oh there's an empty seat beside miss Pierce that has never been filled up by someone before. Why don't you sit there?" The black haired man said. "Okay then." The red haired teenager said making his way to the appointed seat. "He's sitting with Pierce?!" "No way..." "That guy's dead!" "She's going to kill him!" The whispers have gotten stronger. "The atmosphere is getting really heavy..." He said to himself walking up to his new seat. Before he knew it, Michael found himself in front of an empty anatomic chair, beside a girl with blue eyes that resembled diamonds. She had her hair in a sideways ponytail with a few of her hair covering her forehead. She was wearing different clothes than other girls. The thing that differed on her outfit was the blue sleeveless tank top she was wearing instead of a white shirt. All the other garments were pretty usual. a black jacket and a checked black and white skirt. White stockings and black sneakers. That was the standard female school uniform of the academy. He looked at her blue eyes which were already gazing at him and it made him feel kind of strange. Her face was clear and slim. Her cheeks were puffy but she had a definitive jawline. She was definitely a girl someone could fall hard for. "Uhm... I was told to sit here. May I?" The red haired teenager asked. "Beats me." She said looking away. He sat down beside her placing his bag on top of the desk in order to take out his notebook. "My name is Michael King. Nice to meet you!" He said in a low voice to her as he tried not to interrupt the teacher. "Don't involve yourself with me idiot." She threw back.
"Michael would you like to tell the rest of the class how decided that you wanted to enroll in the Magical Officers department?" The professor asked encouraging. "Uhmm..." Michael said raising his hand. "Excuse me professor what's that about joining the Magical Officers?" He asked. "Come on Michael, didn't you know that Magic Highschools such as these ones were established as a gateway to joining the Magical Forces?" The man inquired. "Oh yeah OF COURSE I KNEW THAT!" Michael said nervously with a loud voice. "So you need to start training at once! But you can’t do it alone. You must find a partner first. Our school has a strict "pair" policy. Everyone here in class has one. Everyone except Miss Pierce." Michael  turned his head to look at the girl beside him. "So, it looks like you too will pair up, right?" The professor said. "WHAT?" Both of them said standing up. "Why should I pair up with that idiot!?" The blue eyed girl asked. "Hey I didn't ask for that either!!" Michael  said. "So then it's settled. You two will be a duo!" Mr. Roberts said pointing at them. "WHAAAAAT!!?" Both teenagers shouted.
