Cassandra arrived at her apartment complex, a run-down building with faded paint and a musty smell. She walked up the creaky stairs to the second floor, passing by a few cracked doors and peeling wallpaper. She finally reached her unit, a cramped two-bedroom apartment that was barely big enough for one person, let alone two.

The living room was small, with just enough space for a rickety sofa, a tiny coffee table, and a TV that looked like it was from the 90s. The walls were bare, except for a few water stains that looked like they had been there for years.

Cassandra sighed as she made her way to Mal's room. She pushed open the door, and her eyes widened at the sight of it. Mal's room was like a vibrant explosion of colors and textures. There were wigs of all colors, from pink to purple to blue, and racks of clothing in bright neon shades.

Mal was just stepping out of the bathroom, dressed in a silver sequined dress and high heels. She grinned at Cassandra, revealing a set of bright white teeth. "Hey girl! How was your first day?" she asked, her voice husky and sultry.

"It was good," Cassandra replied, holding up the bag of Chinese food. "I got us some takeout to celebrate."

Mal's eyes lit up as she took the bag from Cassandra. "You're the best, Cassie," she said, giving her a quick hug. "I've been starving all day."

"and let me guess its a part of your new diet?"

Mal nodded while setting at the sofa.

"Mal, I told you, you are thin enough don't do this to yourself. You'll fell sick."

"You don't know the modeling industry Cassie, it wants you to be nears invisible."

Cassandra was about to say that why doesn't she try some other job. But she knew Mal enough that she's too passionate about being a model to put her mind into something else.

Cassandra let out a deep breath and settled in the sofa unpacking the foods.
"where are you going?"

"To this new restaurant, you know who invited me? guess guess guess." Mal jumped with excitement.

"Let me guess. Henry?"

"Yes bitch, how did you know?"

"mmm who else."

"I think this is it, Ill get to meet so many people from the fashio industry and Henry has promised me that he will introduce me to this famous photographer name Ben Christopher, who is apparently looking for a model. Can you believe that!" Mal let out a loud noise to express her joy.

Cassandra was really happy, but still she felt a little odd knowing that she has heard these exact, well if not exact but somehow similar things from Mal before. But Cassandra wanted to be wrong and wanted Mal to be happy.

"Guess today is a lucky day for both of us Mal" said Cassandra. "Besides you have to keep up with me now. Im an editor of Style Harper's now" She smirked a little.

"Shut up bitch, and go sell your soul to that devil Lyla Harper." Said Mal playfully.

"hey! She's not that bad." Cassandra protested.

"Says someone who'll sell their soul to devil."

Cassandra laughed quietly while trying not to spill her drink.

Later that night Cassandra heard some noise and looked at her clock and it was midnight exactly 2:30am. She heard some noise that seemed like sobbing noise coming from Mal's room. She exactly knew what has happened. Cassandra let out a deep breath and trying to go back to sleep, wondering what she will say to make Mal motivated again this time.
