CHAPTER 6
RIALTO BRIDGE –VENICE –Afternoon
Date: 2009, Dec 20.
Time: 13:50
ALEJANDRO, wearing a white sleeveless t-shirt and blue shorts stands on the bridge. He is reading a Spanish newspaper. Alex, wearing a blue tuxedo stands closer to him.
ALEX
“The white ship has sailed off.”
Alejandro drops the newspaper. Alex kneels down to pick up the newspaper. He goes down and opens the newspaper. There is a white plastic box inside the newspaper.
AT THE EAST END OF THE BRIDGE
The bald man reaches the bridge. He takes out his binoculars and looks for Alejandro. While looking for him, he sees Alex dressed like him and standing next to Alejandro. He realizes that, Alex is trying to take the red card from Alejandro.
As the distance between him and Alejandro was too long, he decides to shoot Alex. He takes out his pistol, aims and Alex and shoots a bullet. The bullet misses Alex and hits the bridge. The gunshot sound panics the crowd and starts running. Alejandro realizes that, the deal is botched. He kicks Alex on the face, who was down on his knees. Alex falls on his back. Alejandro takes the box and tries to runaway but, Alex trip him down. Alex jumps over Alejandro and they rolls over the bridge. They throw punches at each other. Alex pokes him in his eyes and hits a punch on his face, which dislocates his nose. Alex snatches the box from Alejandro. He opens the box, takes out the red card and replaces it with another red card. As the bald man is coming towards them, Alex slips he card into his pocket and runs into the crowd.
The bald man comes running to Alejandro. He sees the plastic box near him. He picks up the box and, as Alejandro is of no use now; He point the gun at Alejandro’s face and pulls the trigger.
INT. ALEX’s HOTEL ROOM
Alex comes into his room. He goes near the window, looks out and makes sure that he wasn’t followed. He sits on the chair and takes out the card. It was a simple rectangular piece of cardboard with two thick golden horizontal lines over it.
INT. A HOTEL IN VENICE
Time: 14:30
The bald man takes out the box. He walks near the window and closes it. He sits on the chair, opens the box. There is a red card in it. He takes that card and looks at it under the light. It is simple red colored cardboard piece.
He makes a phone call.
THE BALD MAN (Over phone)
“I have the package.”
VOICE (over phone)
“Did you find a simple red card in it?”
The voice is modified by using the Text-to-speech application.
THE BALD MAN (Over phone)
“Yes.”
THE BALD MAN (cont’d)
“There are few other people running for this.”
VOICE (over phone)
“It’s the Adam’s apple. There will be resistance and that’s why you are getting a fat check.”
THE BALD MAN (Over phone)
“What should I do next?”
VOICE (over phone)
“Go to Varanasi, India. There is a temple on the banks of river Ganga. Go there in the morning and you will find an Aghori.”
The bald man writes down the address.
THE BALD MAN (Over phone)
“Okay.”
VOICE (over phone)
“I’ll send you the codes. Make sure that you give this card to the right person.”

EXT. SAMUEL’s VILLA
DATE: 2010, OCT 20
TIME: 22:05
Samuel’s villa is surrounded by garden and a pool. There are two guards guarding the gate.
Alex waits outside the villa till the lights went off and then, jumps off the wall and enters the villa. He looks in the master bedroom. He sees Samuel sleeping on the bed but, there is no sign of Lupita. He enters the room and locks it from the inside after making sure that he has an exit point i.e, the window.
Alex sits next to Samuel and points his gun at him. He looks to his left and see a jug full of water on the table. Alex picks up the jug and pours water over Samuel. Samuel wakes up screaming but, Alex presses the pillow over his face and touches his chest with the gun. Realizing that a gun is pointed at him, Samuel stops screaming. Alex takes the pillow away from Samuel’s face.
SAMUEL (Shocked and scared)
“Alex? H…How? You were in prison?”
ALEX (grins)
“Where is Lupita?”
SAMUEL (getting out of his blanket)
“She…is in her office.”
ALEX
“Sam. I want to know what actually happened that day.”
SAMUEL (sweating)
“I don’t know.”
ALEX (chuckles)
“You are sweating a lot. Should I make the temp 18?”
SAMUEL (scared)
“Alex, you know me. I’m a professional.”
ALEX (looking away from Samuel)
“Yeah, me too. Me too.”
Alex shoots him and his left knee. Samuel starts screaming in pain but, Alex muted him by pointing the gun.
SAMUEL (stammers)
“I…I didn’t know it was a trap. They wanted a man…a man to clean their tracks and I gave them you.”
ALEX
“Who?”
SAMUEL
“Ganglands.”
ALEX
“I want names?”
SAMUEL
“I don’t know. I just received a phone call.”
ALEX (exhales)
“How much did they pay you?”
SAMUEL
“2.5”
ALEX (nods)
“hmmm.”
ALEX (cont’d)
“Why? Why is Lupita with you?
SAMUEL
“She is innocent. She has nothing to do with it.”
ALEX
“I’ll figure it out.”
Alex puts a bullet on his head and walks out of the villa.
