10th August , 19:30 pm

Sharun phone called  Awhana and asked her if she could come out for a walk with him. At first she refused but, when Sharun kept on calling her, she had no other option, but to go out with him.

Few minutes later.

Sharun and awahana were side by side on thw street which was lit up by moons and stars. Thw third street light on the left of awahana was buzzing a song for the flies. The vendors on both sides of the street were yelling at an old man was sitting sleeping on the middle of the street.

'Can we go to some other place?'     asked Sharun.

Awhana was afraid of meeting Sharun. She was afraid that he might be carrying acid or knife but, he wasn't. He was talking to her like a good friend, like a gentleman. So, she decided to go to the 'Joggers Park' - A park designed for the rich upper-class Indians, who cares about their health.

At the Joggers Park.

Awhana and Sharun were sitting on a bench, close to the left exit gate of the park. There were few people enjoying their evening walk.

'Tomorrow, you are getting married and then, we will never meet again.'    said Sharun by keeping his hands over his thighs and leaning foward.

'Yes. But, for a better life, I had to make this decision, '      said Awhana.

'Yeah. I agree with you. You made a wise decision, '      replied Sharun.

Sharun took a dry leaf from the ground and kept it over his left arm.

'I became this person for money, '    said Sharun.

Sharun looked at Awhana and she was looking confused.

'Few months ago, you asked me, why I choose this life. The answer is.... I was forced to.'     said Sharun.

Awhana moved closer to Sharun.

'I had a big family with lot of relatives. All of them were rich, except my family. So, they never cared about us or our opinions. My family was ignored. And, to change that, we needed money. So, I started selling drugs at colleges and schools. As years passed, my business grew larger but, lost my family. But, that life taught me to hate my family so, I was happy to be alone. '      said Sharun by, tearing that dry leaf into small pieces.

Sharun showed that small pieces of leaf to Awhana and said    'Now, my life is like this leaf. But, I thought that, a life with you could change everything.'

'I'm no good for you. You'll find someone better than me, '      replied Awhana.

Sharun grabbed her hands.

'Please don't leave me. I'll protect you with my life, '  said Sharun.

Awhana pulled her hands and went away from him.

'No. I can't, '      replied Awhana.

Sharun moved closer to Awhana.

'Don't  worry, you'll be safe, '   said Sharun.

Sharun's behavior slowly changed from a gentleman to a psychopath. And Awhana was forced to reveal the truth.

'I'm sorry but, I never loved you.'      said Awhana in a loud voice.

Sharun was shocked and remained still.

Awhana cont'd      'I was in love with Ismail from the past five years. But last year, things weren't going well so, we decided to take a break. And that's when I met you.'

Awhana said a lot about the reason why she cheated him but, Sharun's ears were numb.

'Let's go from here, '   interrupted Sharun.

Sharun and Awhana left the park and walked back to her apartment.

While Awhana was entering her apartment's gate, Sharun  said    'I hope you'll be safe, when the city burns in fire, '  and walked away.

Awhana ignored Sharun and walked in to her apartment.
