Chapter 2 - Missing

Chase’s POV: (Let’s face it, we all saw it coming. Happens every werewolf book.)

“Where is that omega when you need her?” My dad grumbled. “She hasn’t done anything, c’mon, let’s go get her, and make her set up the decorations.”

My dad never really wanted to abuse a packmate, he just… It’s ‘mob mentality,’ he joined the rest of the pack when they started claiming she killed her own parents, by “drawing” the vampires to them.

“Okay, dad.” I mumble, not wanting to see her, because the last time I saw her – about half an hour ago, I rejected her. So…

Suddenly, my dad froze.

“Dad?” I ask, worried.

“Go get your mother, now.” He growled. “We need to talk about something,”

“Okay, dad.” I mumble, and hurry off to find my mom, and our luna.

“Mom?” I call out, “Mom? Where are you?” Mom never took part in the bullying, or abuse, as she called it. Which it was.

The kitchen door opened, and my mom shot out of it. “Where’s your father?” She asked.

“He told me to come and get you,” I told her.

“’right, come follow me.” Mom murmured, and walked out, to dad’s office.

“Right, problem at hand – am I the only one who felt a connection break with one of our pack members?” My dad asks.

“I did, too…”

“What do you mean? Who left the pack?” I ask.

“I think…” My dad took a deep breath, “It was omega. It’d explain her absence.”

The world froze.

“W-what?!” My wolf howled.

“You made her leave us!” He snarled at me.

“It wasn’t just me, you know that! It was all of us!” I snap back, hurting inside.

“You pushed her over her limit, and made her leave, so basically, it is your fault!” He snarled back, before blocking me out; I sigh internally, and focus back on the conversation.

“What’re we going to tell the pack? She didn’t leave any traces behind, so, we should go back to our rooms, and take a rest for the night.” Mom murmured sadly.

“Right, ‘night, mom, dad.” I mumble.

‘Could this really be all my fault? What am I going to tell Jackson, and, Lyra? They’ll flip out on me…’ I sigh once again. Opening the door to my room, the sweetest scent hit me, my mate’s smell. ‘She was here… Did she leave through my window?’

I crawl into bed, and try to get to sleep, to no avail, I can’t get to sleep, I can’t stop thinking about her…
