"this coffee tastes good, doesn't it honey?"Mrs Smith said as she sipped her cup of coffee.
" yes it does"i said nervously trying not to mess up anything. I tried not to look around the place but I couldn't help but notice all the beauty this cafe had, it sure is one place for the rich, everything here looks so expensive and the waiters and waitresses look so organized and elegant in their uniforms. And the coffee tastes and smells so beautiful, I tried not get myself carried away by all this so I cut straight to the chase and asked Mrs Smith.
"why exactly did you bring me here? I don't get why you're so interested to know to me."
She chuckled then slowly put her cup on the table.
"you want to know why? alright, I'll make this quick and straightforward cause honey I have things to do too and I don't want to waste time here with you either. I know you are just cracking out of the egg shell and it's my duty to teach you how to walk before you run. "
Great, now she's talking in parables and she lost me, what the hell is this woman trying to get at?
“I don't get it, what are you talking about?" I said trying to look all tough.
"ts ts ts, exactly what I'm talking about" she said as she slowly shook her head. "I'm talking about you and Ryan, yes I know what is going on between you two"
As soon as she said this my heart started beating fast but I tried to put up a brave face.
"I don't know how far he's gone with you but I'd rather you stop it right away, I've spent so much time with him and trust me I know the type of man he is, he can be charming when the sun comes out and a wolf when the sun goes down. I hate to tell you this but your prince charming isn't all charming at all, it's unfortunate that I didn't get to see these signs earlier and who knows my daughter would have still been alive. "
I was so confused trying to figure out what she meant by that but then she stood up and looked at me.
" don't let me talk to you about this twice child, I hope you've gotten my point. Run away from Ryan while you can"then she walked away leaving me all puzzled and angry at the same time.

Ryan had been calling me last night and I kept on ignoring his calls, I didn't know what to say to him after the conversation I had with Mrs Smith, I just couldn't figure out what she meant and I started wondering if I let things move too fast between us, I just lost my virginity to him and that is something I never saw myself doing until marriage. My head was suffocating with all these thoughts and I just needed someone to talk to so I thought of Tessa, maybe this was it, maybe it was time to tell her about it, who knows what she's going to think or say but I'm ready for it.
After school we went to her house, I thought we could need a lot of privacy and her house was perfect since no one was around.
"OK, girl you're making me nervous. What is it that you have to tell me in private I mean you've been looking so down since morning and almost as much as I am scared to know what's making you look like this, I'm curious too. So spill it what's up."
I took a deep breath, gulped then slowly looked at her and said.

Tessa promptly jumped from her bed and started doing her happy dance.
" shut up, you're a bad ass and you kept this hidden from me? For how long? Who's the lucky guy huh?I'm upset I just want to punch you in the face right now for keeping this from me but at the same time I'm happy that you are seeing someone I just want to hug you right now. "
I cleared my throat still scared of what she was going think of me," Ryan, the guy I've been seeing is Ryan my neighbor and we-we've been seeing each other for quite some time now. "
Her jaw dropped and her eyes were so wide open just looking at me.
" your - your neighbor? The hot man with a baby? The brant daughtery look alike. (gasps) oh my gosh I gotta catch my breath, it's unbelievable I think I'm going to faint, wait is it just me or is it hot in here, wait now it's cold oh no now its hot again" chuckles as she held on to her bed for balance then sat down. Tessa can be such a drama queen but this news was definitely surprising to her and I obviously didn't expect her to react the way she did
"I was going to tell you about it but I didn't know how,"
"since when did you start dating older men let alone baby daddies?" she asked as she gave out a little nervous laughter.
"I mean I don't know what I should do, should I congratulate you, or-or slap you I mean you've really taken me by surprise Becca, wow, you have taken me by surprise."
I scratched my head trying to get the courage to tell her more about the story but with her reaction, she had me pulling away.
" there's more. "I said as I closed my eyes.
She turned to look at me.

" look this isn't easy for me ok? I know all of this has caught you by surprise but I need you to listen and not judge me. I have no one else to talk about this and you're the only friend I can turn to right now."
She took a deep breath and said.
" ok, I'm ready to listen. "
" I think he's mother in law knows about us and I'm afraid of what she might do. She told me something about Ryan that made me raise an eyebrow and now I'm confused I don't know if I jumped in to things too quick." I said as I gave out a loud cry while reaching out to hug her. She embraced me so tight and I felt a little bit at peace just been in her arms.
" what you feel in your heart is much more important than what others say, people have tried to break us, they've stormed up stories about us but non of that mattered because we know each other well, know him first before you jump in to any conclusions and just know that whatever your decision will be I will support it because what matters is what you feel, what you think and not what others think. "

I watched her walk away then turned to walk to my house which was less than a minute away, I looked at Ryan's house then suddenly saw him coming out of the house, I was so frozen, our eyes locked and Mrs Smith's words and Tessa's words just kept replaying in mind.Here I am standing face to face with the man I'm starting to have my doubts about.
