Later that night Michael called me to find out how I was doing, it started off awkward but the more we talked the more it got better and less awkward, non of us talked about the awkward silence and stare that we had or the peck and I felt that it was generous of him not to bring it up.After an hour of talking we finally said our good nights and got off the phone, I thought of calling  Tessa but then I remembered she was out camping with her family so I had to call Jake instead, although him and I rarely talk we're such good pals and it's much easier for me to talk to him about most things,we spent the whole night talking till we both fell asleep with our phones glued to our ears(lol)

The next day mom had already left for work so it was just me and the house, I felt bored and lonely so I decided to go to the back yard and read a novel which was my favorite thing to do,it hadn't been long enough when I heard Melissa crying I thought that was odd so I rushed over to her house and saw her sitting on the grass in the backyard holding on to her bleeding finger and crying helplessly, I'm afraid of blood but in this case I had no choice but to help her, I noticed the back door to her house was open so I rushed her in to clean her cut Ryan whom I suppose was in the house heard the noise and rushed over, I could see it on his face that he was pretty worried and scared, nothing is more painful than seeing the one you love hurt, I remember when my mom would cry for my ex step dad when he was hurt and no matter how many times he hit her,her love for him was stronger than the beatings.
Ryan brought his first aid kit and took over, he cleaned up the cut  and rapped her finger with a bandage. He then lifted her up and told her that everything was OK, he gave her chocolate and threw her in the air over and over and surprisingly she stopped crying, that was such a wonderful father daughter moment that I have never experienced and I thought it was cute to see a father take care of his daughter in such a way.

"thank you," he said, I felt the sincere appreciation in his voice and I felt bad cause I didn't do much to help out, "you really don't have to thank me," I said as I stroked my back hair back and forth with my head facing the floor, "no I mean it, if it hadn't been for you I wouldn't have been able to help her on time, thank you very much" "you're welcome, I'll be leaving now" I said as I headed to the door, "wait" he said with so much panic in his voice, "lunch is almost ready so I was wondering if you could join us" a good looking man taking care of his daughter and is able to cook, is there anything this man doesn't do? He's like a super dad, Melissa is so lucky to have him as a dad."umm.... I" "c'mon" Melissa said as she grabbed my hand.

He set the plates on the table and as soon as he lifted the lids off the pots  the beautiful sweet smell of his cookings made my mouth watery. He served us pasta amatriciana  and grilled chicken and gosh it was so delicious, after the meal we had frozen yogurt for dessert and we all sat in his living room watching movies, we talked and he easily opened up to me about his life. He told me about Melissa's mother's death and his work struggles, I wouldn't have guessed that he was going through such a painful time with all the smiles he's been putting on his face.
"don't feel sorry for me," he said as he tried to put a smile on his face but I could tell that he was hurt, "it's been 3 years now since Rachel left us but we're still surviving, I have to be here for my daughter, I have to be strong for her cause she needs me now more than ever and work, I'm getting there, enough about me tell me about you" "me? there's nothing much to say about me" I don't easily open up to people and honestly there's nothing much to talk about my life aside from my ex step father's abuse which I didn't let people know aside from Tessa. I thought that if he told me about that part of his life then why not tell him about mine.

I told him about other details of my  life which I felt were OK to share with someone other than Tessa, of course I didn't tell him about the abuse but at least I told him some personal information  which were enough for him to know about me, we exchanged phone numbers and that was it for the day. Later that evening I didn't know why I couldn't stop thinking about him, was it about what he told me, or how he saved his daughter,or was it his cooking, I just didn't understand why.
Tessa wasn't coming back till tomorrow so school was boring for me that day, Jake rarely comes to school so it was just me myself and I that day.I was walking back home then suddenly Ryan pulled over and told me to hope in,he was looking good in a white t-shirt and the smell of his cologne was so amazing. "I'm going to pick up Melissa from school I hope you don't mind" "of course not" I said as I smiled at him. He smiled back then turned on the radio and Justin Timberlake's song can't stop the feeling was playing and promptly I started singing along, "you love this song?" he asked as he smiled, "of course!this is one of my favorite songs" I said in so much excitement. He chuckled then increased the volume and we both sang along as he drove off. It was fun and so amazing even though he didn't know all the lyrics but I found that cute and funny.

We reached Melissa's school and before he got out I said to him "you haven't been here for a long time so I thought that maybe I can show you around the city like right now , if you want to" I was nervous about his response but to my amazement he was ok with it. After picking up Melissa we drove around the city with the best hits on the radio playing, I took them to the best places and I could tell that they were both having an amazing time just as I was. I hadn't had this much fun in a long time and I was glad I shared it with him.
