Chapter Five
I tap my pen against the table, causing about five other people in the room to look over at me. All morning long I have waited for lunch. They released pictures of the scratch marks and I took a screenshot just incase they took the pictures down. But like the doctors said, it wasn't a wolf that killed Vanessa. The claw marks are just slightly different from a wolf's.

"Kat, you're driving me insane, stop," I hear a girl state. I roll my eyes and set my pen down, watching the clock tick by. We have two minutes left in here. I only did one question on the worksheet since my mind is in a different place. I need to get to the library so I can research some supernatural creatures that I have in mind.

"Remember, if you didn't finish the worksheet that it is homework. I expect it to be done and turned in tomorrow. If not then you get a zero that you can't bring up," Mister Orwell states, slamming a stack of papers on his desk. I just nod and put my things away. The bell rings a second later and everyone gets up to leave.

I leave a moment after everyone else. I can finally head to lunch and get researching. But first I need to stop by my locker so I can put my textbook and notebook in there. I'll have to do all my homework for my first four classes at home since I didn't really pay attention at all today.

As I walk down the hall to my locker I can hear yelling coming from the end of the hall. The voices sound familiar. I know one voice belongs to Jess. It wouldn't be shocking if Jess did get into a fight. Some people she cannot stand and she has a rather large mouth with no filter. But the question is, who is she fight or arguing with.

I walk closer and more people gather around. Some people even cheer Jess on. I stand on my tip toes to see better. Jess is fight a girl with orange hair, Meg. Again not shocking since they do have a history because of Ryan. But Jess looks like she about to kill Meg.

I quickly step into the fight and hold Jess back. A second later a tall figure that pulled Meg up. It was Josh, looking rather tired. Not only did he look tired, he looked like he was done with this fight. This is the only fight that Josh has seen involving Jess. And trust me, she could probably get into a lot of fights today. All you have to do is send her the wring look and she'll have you pinned against the ground with a bloody nose. She's a beautiful girl, she's just not as beautiful inside as out.

"She is talking shit about me and needs to be put in her place," Jess growled, trying to get out of my arms.

"I wasn't even! You came up to me talking shit!" Meg shouted.

"Maybe you should stay away from my boyfriend!" Jess shouted back.

"Girls stop! Jess come with me. Meg, you stay there until security comes and gets you," A teacher spoke, grabbing Jess and walking towards the office. Meg just rolls her eyes and gets out of Josh's grip.

"What really happened, Meg?" I asked, looking at her and taking notice of how her eyes were now completely black.

"I was talking to Ryan since he said he wanted to talk to me. So that's what I did, I went to go talk to him. He wanted to reconnect our friendship. But Jess saw us and kind of got mad, getting into a fight with me," Meg sighed.

"Jess is just over protective. She will do anything to make sure people get the message to not to touch her boyfriend. I'm sure by now that Ryan is tired of it. She's usually always getting into fights because he'll talk to other people," I replied.

"Maybe he should break up with her," Meg suggested.

"I already told him that and he is kind of really scared to do so since she might kill him," I replied, shrugging a bit.

"Gosh, this is why I really hate her. Not only did she steal Ryan from me, she's just a stuck up controlling bitch. I have to go." Meg then quickly walks off down the hall. I then turn to Josh and he just gives me the look that says 'they're all insane'.

"He's not even that cute," I remark, "I have no clue why they are acting like he's a super hot guy that everyone wants."

"Hey, maybe he's not cute and maybe he has a heart of gold," Josh replied, patting his chest where his heart was at.

"I don't think Ryan has a heart," I huffed, rolling my eyes and making my way to th library, Josh following me.

"Whatever you say. Where are you going anyways?" He asked.

"To the library. I have a little research to do. They released pictures and medical stuff about Vanessa early this morning. I took a screenshot just incase they took it down. I'm sure her mother doesn't want the town seeing rather disturbing pictures of her daughter," I explained.

"How disturbing are they? They're just claw marks," Josh replied.

"Yeah, claw marks on her chest, stomach and side. It looked like a make out session gone wrong," I answered.

"I have an image of that in my head now," Josh groaned, fake gagging.

"Oh shush, I'm sure you've had your fair share of R rated make out sessions with some groping," I replied, rolling my eyes at him. Josh mutters something under his breath as we reach the library.

I just roll my eyes and enter, quickly signing in. I then rush over to the computers. There is way more behind Vanessa's death. There has to be a reason. And that reason has a back story. There has to be some history with Ricardo and Morgana or their families or just something. There has to be something. Most feuds between people happen because someone kills someone.

"Do you know anything about Morgana's family that I don't?" I asked, typing some things into the computer.

"No. I'm not really from here, you got to remember that," Josh replied.

"I know, just asking." I rolled my eyes.

I log into the computer and then try to find a place to start. I can't just look up Morgana's family history. And it's not like it si going to tell me what happened between her and Ricardo anyways. That's more of a private thing. But I'm sure something happened between them that made Ricardo want to kill her daughter. Or maybe she tried to kill Ricardo.

Wait, the day that Ricardo left town, that might still be somewhere deep in the news page. The article on him running out-of-town was pretty popular and long. Everyone in the town was interested in what happened to make Ricardo be on the run. They didn't tell the public that he murdered a group of teenagers, they just said that he tried to. But they caught him red handed killing teenagers. It just goes to show how much they hide from the people these days. Yu have to be an eye-witness to know the entire story in this town. Because everything is a secret in this town.

Morgana must have had a part in Ricardo running out-of-town other wise he wouldn't of killed her daughter first. Ricardo always was well hidden in the woods. He would also run off before Morgana could even find him. But there must have been one occurrence between them.

"Found anything?" Josh asked, glancing over at me.

"Not yet. The news website won't load. The wi-fi stopped working," I replied, pulling my eyebrows together into thought.

"Weird. Maybe a wizard finally came to town," Josh joked, chuckling and picking up a textbook, opening it.

"Maybe a good joke came to town to live with you," I remarked, rolling my eyes at him and closing the browser, logging off of the computer, "do you have an idea of what could have killed Vanessa? I mean, it was definitely not a wolf."

"Well, I need to see the pictures to identify what it could have possibly been. I don't know that many creatures though to be honest," Josh replied, sitting up and turning to face me. I grab my phone and open it up, digging through my gallery to find the screenshots that I took last night. Of course this morning Jess had to take about ten thousand selfies on my phone tat I have not gotten around to deleting yet. Once I find the pictures, I hand my phone to Josh.

Josh takes my phone from me and studies the pictures. You can tell that he is in deep thought by the way that his eyebrows grow closer and closer. Also by the way that his mouth turns into a slight frown. It's almost as if someone had just told him some bad news.

"Any idea?" I ask after a minute, searching his face.

"I'm not too sure," he replied, looking up. Our eyes then meet each others for a moment and I can feel a small connection between us. It's as if the grey clouds on a stormy day have rolled away and it's just us standing in a field of vibrant green grass.

"You sure?" I questioning, wanting to sure that he knew that he didn't know.

"I'm not actually sure. I mean, I feel like I have seen these type of claw marks before," Josh answered, looking away and breaking the connection between us. The grey clouds that fog up my mind return, raining down hard.

"Where before?" Maybe if I keep asking him when and where, it will pop back into his head. Sometimes you just have to ask questions to get someone to remember. It's a trick that has always worked for me. I just don't know if it works as well on Josh. We have a different trick to get us to remember.

"I'm not sure, but it was recent. Maybe even the other day..." His voice then starts to trail off as if he remembered.

"When the other day?"

"At the café. Her car. She was near a car that they said was hers. The car also had the same claw marks. And then something strange dripping from the car. I think I know what killed her, but I need to look it up first. Oh my gosh thank you so much!" He stood up, gave me an awkward hug.

I just pat his back and then gently push him away. He just smiles, quickly going off with all his stuff. My gosh, what a nerd. I was very scared for a second that he would have kissed me. As much as that sounds appetizing, I would have pushed him away. I'm not that kind of girl that you can just kiss.

Time has flown by. I gather up my things and walk to the doors of the library. As my hand touches the cool metal of the door handle, a very loud scream is heard from the back of the library. The scream almost pierces my eardrums but I run to where the scream came from. And I could already see people gather around.

I have to stand on my tiptoes to see above everyone. But there on the floor is a pale girl, a bite mark in her neck. Her eyes show no sign of life. I recognize her as Yuuna, the mayor's daughter. She is known as the most beautiful girl in school. Every girl wishes to have her skin complexion or her waist that fit perfectly with her body. A small part of girls wish to have the perfect breast size like hers. The size that just goes with your body inside of soggy grandma boobs that have to be held up by a push up bra. Or the tiny nubs that they consider breasts.

But all that is on my mind as I look at Yuuna is that only a vampire could have done this. And the only vampire that is in the school now is Meg. But the major question is, would she do something like this?
