The Friday balls
Everything was going well, Silvestre was happy and so was the rest of the people.
The problems of each family stayed behind closed doors, it was somewhat of an unspoken rule.

Every Friday they would organize a ball where many close friends of the older Wingstringham couple attended. Those ball all looked the same: the same neutral pastel colors, same freshly hunted meat, same regional fruit and so much more that was yet the same each time.

Over time, certain people stopped coming which truly offended Estrilda. She demanded Silvestre to make everyone come but the poor man was no king and could not force anyone to do something they did not wish to do.
But as he was watching carefully his massive garden, he saw his grandchildren playfully enjoying themselves. Edwin and Jocelin were sword-fighting as the girls sang and Lawrence surveyed them quietly reading.
A fabulous idea then came to his mind: what if he asked each of his sons to organize one of the balls instead of Estrilda. And in the back of his mind he kept the thought that the one that would have the most successful one would inherit his land and castles.
