Chapter Three
5 hours of intensely long classes later, I was just about ready to collapse. Even though I skipped a class I still feel mentally exhausted. School should be a form of harassment.

"Hey Amy."

I didn't bother to look back. If this person wanted my attention he should be in front of me. A boy came into view and I weakly smiled.

"Hey Jack."

Jack Talack (pronounced Telick). My best friend AKA brother in arms AKA class clown AKA nerd. He's A Jack Of All Trades (get it? No? Okay).

It's funny how I hang around with a lot of smart people but it won't rub off on me.

"Where're you going?" he asked as he started skipping. It was at this moment that Amelia knew, she should run. Rather than heed the warning of my brain, I told him I was going home.

"You don't have to change. We'll just go as we are. That's why they call it casual."

"Umm... Where are we going?"

"Hm? To Kampais party of course!" A devious smile played on his lips. Mr. Class Clown was planning something. And I wanted nothing to do with it.

"I thought that was weeks away?"

"Yeah. But he wanted to celebrate the first day of school."

"Oh. Okay then. Well. That changes... nothing. I'm still not going."

"But you promised!"

"No, I didnt."

"Yes, you did. We were at my house and I asked if you were going and you said yes."

"No, no no no no no. You asked if I wanted more popcorn and I said yes. Then you asked me if I was going- "

"and you said yes!"

"-and I said I would think about it. Besides, how could I have agreed to a party that I knew nothing about?”

I sped up as I looked around. It was getting dark. Who has a party on the first working day of the week? More importantly, what do his parents do? Not only are they rich, theyre barely home! And don't they ever watch the news?! His party almost always get out of hand. And lets talk about money. Is Kampai's allowance a million dollars a month? How does he buy everything he needs to throw a giant party and still be able to fix all the damages before his parents return?

"Okay. You make a good point. So... Wanna go to a party tonight?"

"JT. I'm not going, and that's final."

I opened the front door and went in knowing he would follow.

"I was hoping that it didn't have to come to this, but you've forced my hand."

"No I didn't."

"I'll have to use my trump card."

"No you don't."

"I'm sorry Amy, but it's for the best."

"No it's not!" I sighed. I need a drink.

"I'm gonna go get some water. You want anyth- why are you looking at me like that?" I asked as I turned and found Jack at the doorway with his hands behind his back. His face held a smile that looked angelic but stroke fear in his friends or any of his victims. A true wolf in sheep's clothing.

"Let's make a deal."

"With you? Never."

"Why? Afraid of losing?"

"Yes. 100%."

"Come on. Just a simple game."

"I said no. And if you guys actually loved me, you would let me lay in my bed. With its silky sheets and fluffy pillows. and the lightning's just right-"

"Stop drooling Amy. Honestly. You're the only girl I know that loves her bed more than she loves food. Or drinking. Or... well, anything!"

I yawned. "It's a gift."
