Crystal buried her face in her hands and started sobbing. Phoebe and Scott were frozen.

"I swear, I didn't mean to! I was aiming for his shoulder but he attacked Phoebe and I panicked and missed!", the princess cried.

"She's crying, what do I do?", Scott muttered at his sister.

"Go comfort her.", Phoebe replied.

"How do I do that?", he asked again, even more confused this time.

"Start with a hug!"

"You're kidding me.", he shook his head.

"Nope. It's your choice...", Phoebe wanted to give him a sly smirk, but all that came out was a shrug. If someone like Crystal could kill someone, that meant that anyone could and that didn't really make the world seem like a better place. It actually made it seem like a worse place than it really was and Phoebe wasn't in the mood for that.

Scott grumbled, but sat down next to Crystal. She didn't seem to notice, so Scott turned to look at his sister again. She nodded slowly, urging him to do what she'd told him.

He gulped and patted Crystal's shoulder. "Hey, princess?", he started. She looked up, still sobbing. "Alright, come here...", he hugged her. Scott couldn't see Phoebe, but he could clearly imagine her smug smirk.

Phoebe, on the other hand, could practically feel the awkwardness. She facepalmed and shook her head. Scott really wanted to give her the middle finger, but Crystal started sobbing in his shoulder so he decided to comfort her first.

He patted her back, trying to be comforting or whatever. He wasn't good at this whole emotions thing, so he didn't really know what he was doing and if he was doing it right.

"I'm not going to tell you to stop crying. That never helps. Just let it all out.", he told her quietly. He didn't know if she'd heard him, but she did start sobbing harder.

Phoebe started pacing around nervously. She had to admit to herself that she didn't just get Scott to make Crystal feel better, but she also wanted to distract him from the fact that their friend had just killed a person and that they'd be the number one suspects for it. Everyone had seen the fight and chase break out between them and the guy with the tattoo.

They'd be on the run anyway. Scott's fear was coming true. The only way to get out of this was if Scott actually delivered on his infamous mission and Phoebe couldn't just make him do that, especially after she'd told him to take care of himself and do what was best for him. Besides, Crystal was a good person. She might have made a mistake, which happened by accident, but she didn't deserve to be betrayed like that.

Phoebe tried to forget that this whole idea even crossed her mind. She felt guilty about coming up with it. She'd never push her brother into doing something like this, even if it was his idea in the first place. And, of course, under no circumstance would she betray Crystal. She'd taken a liking into the redhead.

The sound of footsteps made them all freeze. Crystal and Scott both turned to look towards the source of the sound, while still holding onto each other. Phoebe clenched her fists, readying herself to fight in case someone decided to give them away.

Two different voices, one of them familiar, were approaching hurriedly. When one of the two women turned to look in the alley, Phoebe lunged at her tackling her to the ground.

"Gah!", she screamed.

"Violet?", Scott asked in confusion.

"Ouch...", she groaned. The other woman was a stranger to them, though she really looked like Crystal. She must have been the woman Phoebe had described earlier.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!", Phoebe's eyes widened as she got off of her.

"It's okay...", Violet rubbed her head. She got up and dusted the dirt off her dress.

"What the hell is going on?", the other woman asked. She was much older than Violet but you had to look really closely to notice the few white hairs and wrinkles on her face. Scott eyed her suspiciously.

Then she noticed the dead body in the middle of the alley.

"Okay, the three of you have a lot of explaining to do.", she crossed her arms. She didn't seem surprised or angry, just disappointed for some reason that evaded Crystal.

"Who are you?", she asked. The woman looked at Crystal as if she just saw her. She gulped and started sweating nervously. That's when two more guys came to the alley, holding hands, saving the woman from replying.

"Where did you two run off to?", one of them asked.

"Here, Jackson.", Violet sighed.

"We've been looking everywhere.", he crossed his arms.

"I'm sorry! It was urgent.", she glanced at the corpse.

"Wait... Is that a dead body?!", the other guy asked in terror. Violet nodded bitterly.

"Who are you people?", Phoebe snapped. "Apart from you, Violet. I know who you are.", she smiled sweetly at her.

"Alright. Meet Jackson and his boyfriend Charles. They're my friends.", Violet started. "And that's--"

"I'm Cheryl.", the older woman sighed, rubbing her forehead.

"Wait... Cheryl as in Cheryl Cornel?", Phoebe asked suspiciously.

"I go by Floreline these days, if you don't mind?", Cheryl sighed. "Dan and I aren't on the best terms."

"I thought you were dead!", Crystal exclaimed.

"You and the rest of the kingdom...", Cheryl bit her lip.

"Yeah, but if you're Daniel's wife, that makes you my aunt.", the princess explained. Cheryl's expression looked pained for a second but then went back to being confused.

"You're Olivia's kid?"

"I like how you're not saying Alastor's."

"Oh, please. Alastor is not fit to be called a father. He wasn't even fit to be called a friend.", Cheryl snorted.

"Sorry to interrupt the family reunion, but why the hell is there a dead person in the middle of this alley and why the hell are we all standing around him and talking as if nothing's wrong?", Jackson panicked.

Crystal shot a glance at the corpse and burst out crying again. "Why can't you people stop mentioning the goddamn dead guy?", Scott snapped, hugging her again.

"I- I'll go explain to V what happened. Sorry, but she's the only one I trust from you bunch.", Phoebe eyed everyone suspiciously and walked away with the young witch.

"What's wrong with your ankle?", Cheryl asked Crystal, but she was sobbing too hard to reply properly, so Scott replied for her.

"He broke it.", he mouthed, glaring at the dead guy.

Cheryl nodded in understanding. "Can I take a look at it? Maybe I can fix it.", she asked carefully. Scott turned to glare at her. "I won't hurt her, I promise.", she reassured him.

Scott kept glaring at her, but after glancing at Crystal's ankle (which was lying on the floor in a very sickening corner and was probably half the reason Crystal was crying) he let her approach them.

Cheryl kneeled next to them and took a look at the broken ankle. "Well?", Scott asked her.

"I can heal it, but I'm going to have to put it back in its place first and it's going to hurt. A lot.", she warned them.

"Please don't say the word heal... Bad memories...", he shook his head.

"Will you let me take care of it?"

Scott glanced at Crystal, who gave him a really small nod. "Alright.", he replied.

"This is going to hurt.", Cheryl warned Crystal again.

"I've had worse.", Crystal she managed to calm herself a bit, glaring at her still bandaged forearm with hate and disgust.

"I'll make it quick.", Cheryl promised. Just as she said that, she turned Crystal's ankle back into the angle it was supposed to be.

Crystal let out a pained scream and accidentally dug her nails into Scott's hand, who bit his lip to keep himself for screaming too.

"Okay, that was the tough part. Your ankle will keep being in pain for a bit, but not for long and not as much.", Cheryl pressed her hand on it making Crystal flinch slightly. Green ripples of energy circled the ankle, healing the broken bones.

"You're a witch too?", Crystal exclaimed.

"Are you referring to Violet with that too?", her aunt asked curiously.

"Uh... Yeah! Of course! Violet!", Crystal replied nervously.

"Good job, princess! That wasn't suspicious at all.", Scott muttered.

"Shut up...", she mumbled back.

"Anyway, thanks for all the help, but we have to get going. When people start coming to this alleyway, we'll stop being so welcome here...", Scott said that last part quietly for Crystal nor to hear. "Now, where the hell did my sister go?"

"Wait!", Cheryl called.

"What is it?", her niece asked her.

"I can make everyone in the village forget about him. I'll need Violet's help, of course, but you won't have to leave so soon. I'm guessing you've already been on the run for too long. You deserve some rest."

Crystal glanced at the dead guy again, tears welling up in her eyes.

"I can make you forget about him too.", Cheryl added.

The princess was tempted. She'd forget she ever killed a person and if everyone else forgot too it would be as if it never happened.

But she couldn't bring herself to do it. That guy night have gone after them for whatever prize or money Alastor was offering, but he was still a person and he'd lost his life. Crystal couldn't just forget a person ever existed. Besides, if she didn't know how awful killing felt, she might do it again. Maybe by accident, like this time, but maybe not. Remembering would keep her from repeating history.

You can't learn from your mistakes if you don't acknowledge they exist.

"No, thanks. Just... Just the village, if you want. We're leaving tomorrow anyway.", she looked away and blinked back her tears.

Cheryl nodded in understanding. She seemed proud, for some reason, and then proceeded to leave to get Violet.

When Cheryl returned with Phoebe and Violet, the two girls seemed shaken up but refused to talk about what they had discussed. They appeared to have come some sort of agreement and to have made a deal no one else was supposed to know about.

"It's been a very long day. Why don't we just get a room each or something and sleep it off?", Phoebe yawned.

"It's still noon.", Violet gave her a confused glance.

"My point exactly.", Phoebe crossed her arms.

"I could use some sleep...", Crystal said hesitantly.

"Sleep sounds good.", Scott agreed.

"Fine. We'll go to an inn and sleep, are you glad?", Cheryl sighed.

"Not really. We just want to go around town and stuff.", Charles commented shyly.

"Alright, you two go around town and stuff, but first come and see at what inn the rest of us will be staying at.", Cheryl told them.

"Fine by me...", Jackson shrugged.

"Great! So we want... how many rooms?", Violet asked.

"I'm guessing one for you, one for Phoebe, one for me, one for each couple.", Cheryl counted.

"You forgot my brother and Crystal.", Phoebe raised an eyebrow.

"I think she counted us as a couple...", Crystal said as quietly as she could. She had turned redder than a tomato.

"Wh- We're not a couple!", Scott protested.

"Definitely not a couple!", Crystal agreed.

"We're just friends.", her friend added.

"Huh... Could have fooled me...", Cheryl shrugged. "Alright, so... seven rooms? That's a stretch."

"What if I share with my sister?", Scott suggested.

"And I could share with Crystal! We have a lot to catch up on!", Violet winked at her.

"Four rooms. Well, it is sure going to be easier than seven... Anyway, the more we stall the harder it will be to actually find them, so let's get going.", Cheryl started walking out of the alley.

"What about... him?", Phoebe asked, glancing at the dead man.

"Dammit, I forgot about him...", Violet rubbed her forehead.

"How do you forget about a dead person?", Phoebe asked her in surprise.

"I have a lot on my head.", the young witch sighed.

"Is that a new code-name for Tristan?", Phoebe asked again.

Violet opened her mouth in protest, but ended up agreeing to what her friend was saying. "Not just that, but yeah...", she nodded.

"I knew it.", Phoebe smirked.

"You know what? You kids go ahead. I'll catch up with you later. I'm going to take care of this first...", Cheryl sighed again, motioning towards the corpse.

"Alright, let's get out of here.", Scott nodded, noticing that Crystal was shaking and on the verge of tears. Again.

After looking around for a while, they walked in the largest but cheapest inn they could find and got four rooms.

Crystal and Violet were next to Phoebe and Scott, Cheryl was down the hall, while Jackson and Charles were opposite her. The couple left as soon as they unloaded their small amount of luggage in their room.

The Harrow siblings had a serious talk instead of napping like they had agreed, Cheryl went out to gather some supplies for the next day's trip and Crystal stayed up with Violet, since they had a lot to catch up on.

"What happened after you helped us escape? Why did you leave the palace?", Crystal asked her trying not only to forget her own troubles but also to see what had happened to her friend.

"It was Lux...", Violet grumbled. "She was trying to give the blame for your escape entirely to Caroline and Tristan if she managed to convince your father... Well, you know how he can get."

"Unfortunately, yeah...", Crystal glared at her bandage again.

"Anyway, I had nothing to lose, so I barged in the room, took all the credit for your marvelous escape and then ran away, because Alastor was furious. He would have killed me if Lux... Nevermind that, actually. It doesn't matter.", she said, realising that she was oversharing.

"I don't know what to say...", Crystal frowned.

"Don't worry about it. It's okay, actually... But there's something you should know."

"What is it?"

"I bumped into--", Violet was interrupted by a loud knock on the door.

Both girls fell silent in fear that it could be someone after them, probably sent by Alastor.

"Dammit, guys, it's us!", Phoebe groaned from outside.

"Phoebe, stop it!", Scott hissed at his sister.

Violet rushed to the door to let them in.

"What's going on?", Violet raised an eyebrow. Scott was trying to walk away, but Phoebe was holding him casually by the collar.

"We were bored and couldn't sleep. Can we come in?", Phoebe asked.

Violet glanced at Crystal, who shrugged lightly. "Alright.", she stepped back for the two siblings to come in through the door.

Phoebe walked in immediately, but then noticed that her brother was about to make a run for it, so she grabbed his wrist and dragged him in the room.

Crystal gave them a curious glance.

"Uh... Scott, are you okay?", she asked him.

"Huh? I'm fine. Just not in the mood to socialise.", he glared at his sister, who rolled her eyes at him, smirking slyly.

"Are you guys going to sit, or will we spend the rest of the day standing around?", Violet put her hands on her hips. She didn't seem to be in the mood to socialise either.

"Yeah, Scott, sit!", Phoebe sat at the edge of Violet's bed and crossed her arms, giving him a challenging look.

Her brother gave her a death glare before sitting down next to Crystal. Violet ignored the feud going on between the two siblings and lied down on her own bed.

"Can I put my legs on you?", she asked Phoebe, who shrugged.

"Be my guest.", she replied as Violet did as she had asked.

"I'm hungry.", Violet announced.

"Me too.", everyone else said in unison.

"Hey, V, wanna go get food for everyone?", Phoebe asked Violet.

"I'm too bored to get up...", the young witch groaned. Phoebe gave her a meaningful look that seemed to change her mind. "Fine, but only because you're me new bestie. No offence, Crystal."

"None taken.", Crystal shook her head, smiling lightly.

The other two girls got up as Scott gave a pleading look to his sister that said "Don't leave me alone" and Crystal gave him an offended one that said "What am I? A statue?".

And when Violet and Phoebe closed the door behind them, Scott decided that his sister was dead to him for committing this utter betrayal.
