Nineteen Years Later

"Anderson?" A voice called out through the communicator. I didn't respond and stayed hidden behind my black Mercedes.

"Come out here now!" I yelled at a dark figure that stayed hidden in the alleyway amongst the layers of darkness that covered it.

"Anderson!? Do you hear me!?"

I kept staring through the dark and peaceful alleyway. My pistol, Taurus Gx4, was aimed at the mysterious figure. My eyes shifted to my right. I saw Agent Rick. Alexander Rick, hiding behind his car, though only his upper body was visible, as he aimed the gun towards the alleyway.

"Listen. You have exactly five seconds to come out now! If you do not do what I tell you to do, I will not hesitate to shoot! Do I make myself clear!?" Without another moment's wait, Rick started the countdown.

"Five!" I relaxed my arm and then gripped my gun tightly. "Four!" The countdown was proceeding further, and there was no such improvement.

"Anderson!?" Another agent called out through the communicator. "Three!" The mysterious, dark figure moved a bit. "Two!" I looked at Rick as he loaded his gun, ready to fire. But before we could reach one, the figure bent down towards his shoe to pull something out.

"What are you doing? Stop!" Rick called out to him hesitantly. A loud gunshot echoed as we quickly sought protection behind our vehicles. "My god!" I yelled and stood up abruptly to check the alleyway, but no one was there. I rushed to Rick and found him clutching his upper arm tightly. "Rick?" I bent down to take a look and found out, only to reveal Rick's arm covered with blood. The bullet shot Rick right in the arm. "Get him." He whispered.

"But what about-"

"Just leave me here. I'll be fine." He said in a firm tone. A tone full of authority and command. "Now get him."

I nodded my head slightly and rushed to my car. I drove as fast as possible and took another turn around the building. "This is Agent Anderson requesting for backup! I need a unit with Agent Rick. He got shot. And I need another agent on Melbourne Hill! The address is Thirty-Two, Crossroads Avenue!"

"Copy that, Agent Anderson. Three units are on their way to the reported location." The dispatcher answered calmly from the other side.

Being connected with the police and playing a crucial role in the Secret Service wasn't always the easiest thing. I slightly smirked as I turned on the screen in my car. The entire screen showed me the location of the mysterious figure. "You won't get away from me that easily. . ." I whispered to myself and took a turn to the left.

I did meet the president two or three times before. Therefore, this was one of the perks of being acquainted with the Secret Service. After the death of-

"Great. Just how great is that!" I said as I saw the three agents in front of me and Chief Beck himself, all standing in front of my car with the angriest looks I have ever seen. My eyes shifted to the man pinned down to the ground by an agent. This man was the so-called 'Dark and mysterious figure' we chased. I saw the ambulance taking care of Rick's arm with great care. I knew I was in big trouble if it wasn't palpable till now.

Instead of getting out of my car like I was supposed to, I just pressed the klaxon of the car until it made a terrible and loud noise, kindly asking all of them to move aside so I could run away from the wrath of the Chief. Those selfish people didn't even move an inch. The Chief walked towards the passenger seat of my car and sat beside me. I gulped hard. And my hands started to sweat. "Drive." It was the only thing he said as he sat down. "To where, sir?" I asked him with a small smile. He looked at me with his death-bringing and piercing blue eyes. "Got it." I replied softly and drove to the headquarters of the Secret Service.
