Chapter Four: "... He's gone."
I'm at my house. School was okay. Death was disturbing me during class occasionally, nothing I couldn't handle. It wasn't like the demon was talking, just giving me weird, slightly painfull little shocks throughout the day.

Darkness later came to pick me up, and not after we got home he bid me goodbye. It was weird seeing him leave. I almost felt that I loved him, but at the same time I hated him. Like two parts of my body were at war.

"I will never forgive you if you grow to love him. He did the unforgivable in the past, and a stupid girl like you is bound to fall for his trickery. " Death said inside me head.

"Shut up!" I said aloud, startling some maids. I was sitting in dinning room, attempting to get some homework done when death invaded my thoughts.

"Are you alright, Miss Anna?" One of the maids, Mary, asked me.

" Yes. I think I'm going to take a walk. I'll eat something when I get back, don't bother saving anything for me." I say to Mary and the other maids.

After I leave our house I finally feel free. The fresh air and sent of the recently mowed lawn felt invigorating.

I automatically started walking in the direction of the nearest coffee shop. I'd been escaping to the shop ever since Isaac started letting me go out by myself a couple of years ago.

After a couple of minutes I arrived, I  went to counter so Jerry, the barista, could take my order. Jerry already knew my order, so he told me to go wait by the coffee makers on the the other side of counter.

The bell rang, a sign a new customer had arrived. I didn't typically care if other people came in and disrupted the peace, as long as they don't disturb me,I don't care. Two girls walked in. One looked like snow white, pale with cherry red lips and  blue eyes. The other looked like a swim suit model, she had long tan legs and pink lips.
They came over to me and said “Your majesty, the king requests  your presence at the  castle”, the snow white lookalike said.,whose names I later found were Olivia and Cecilia.

"With all due respect, your highness, if you refuse to go with us, we have full permission to take you by force." Olivia said, flipping her blond hair.

"First of all, don't call me ‘your highness’, second of all, I'm not going anywhere with you. I don't care what lord Isaac says."  Isaac. Of all people, it had to be him. I trusted him. He was like family. No,  He was my family.

"Miss Anna," Cecilia started, in a polite tone. "You have to come with us. It's important, and you're required to come. All will be explained on the way to the castle"

"I'm not going anywhere without an explanation."  I stated.

"Miss Anna... " Cecilia trailed off.

"CeCe, no. We can't. Lord Isaac gave us strict orders not to." Olivia said.

A wave of pain hit me in the head, and I staggered back. Up until now I had been ignoring the painful little shocks, but this felt like a train had hit me.

"Miss Anna?" Cecilia asked, sounding concerned.

Another wave of pain hit, and I started to get dizzy. A searing pain shot through my head again, and I collapsed. My vision became blurry, and I started to see spots.

"We need to get her to the castle." Olivia said, not sounding concerned in the least.

Olivia took my arm and wrapped it around her neck, and Cecilia did the same. I blacked out before we even got to the car

•••

I woke up in an expensive looking bedroom. Everything in the room was either pink or gold. Nothing looked like it was under nine hundred dollars.

The door swung open.

The people that entered were Adrian and Cecilia. They were arguing.

"We should tell her! She deserves to know why she was brought here!" Adrian said.

"But we were under strict orders not to. We shouldn't go against lord Isaac." Cecilia said.

Adrian looked over at me. "You're awake."

I stared at him, in a daze. "Where's Isaac?" I asked.

Adrian looks a Cecilia. She nods at him. "Um, well, I don't really know how to say this, but.... he's gone."

"Gone... what do you mean by gone? He couldn't have just disappeared, right?"  I say. I still don't understand. Isaac? Gone. I might be mad at him right now, but I don't want him dead. I would never want him dead.

"We don't really know what happened, exactly, but he's not dead, at least to my knowledge. Isaac was perfectly fine last time I was with him. But then... " Adrian trails off.

"But then what?"

"I blacked out." He answers.

"That's not all. You're not telling me everything." I say.

"Usually when things like this happen, the hosts, in this case Isaac, are dead..."

"No." I interrupt. Isaac is not dead.

"But that's just it. I don't think he's dead. I would know if he was dead, and I just don't think he is." Adrian finished.

"So what are we gonna do?" I say, getting out of bed. I look down at what I'm wearing. "Where are my jeans?" I feel around my neck. "Who undressed me? Where is my necklace?!" No. No. No. It was Aden's, I can't lose it.

Adrian puts his hands on my shoulders, steadying me. "The necklace is on the dresser." He says calmly.

I walk up to the dresser and pick it up, then fasten it around my neck. I look down again. What am I even wearing?  I'm in a very small pair of pink and silky shorts, with a matching loose  sleeveless top that shows a little bit of my stomach. "What are these supposed to be? Pajamas?"

"Uh, yeah. They were the only ones that fit you." Cecilia answers.

The bedroom door opens up again. "There you are, princess. I've been waiting."
