Sleep
It was midnight,
I heard the rain as it fell.
I snuggled into Sunny as he dozed off.
Mom was next to us, though she was awake.
She starred out of the small crack of the cage to the window.
'Go to sleep,' my brother told me thru our bond. (we can communicate with only thinking, we call it twinning.)
'I will,' I twinned softly.
I started hearing footsteps coming toward our room.
'Sunny! wake up,' I nudged him both thru our bond and physically.
The door burst open revealing the two Rottweilers from earlier and their master.
He opened the door of our cage. I thought he was going to go for us but instead, he grabbed our mom.
The Rottweilers started to laugh as they noticed how our mom was struggling to get out of the firm grip of the scientist.
"Come on, Thing 0, I warned you earlier!"
Sunlit then tried to bite the ankles of the man. I bit his other ankle.
"Aww, look at your cute puppies, Learning from you!"
The rotts then grabbed us and put us back to our cage.
"Mamma!" I cried out.
Then the door closed.
"What are they going to do with mom!?" I whined impatiently.
Sunny looked down.
His face showed that he knew what was going on.
I could feel how sad he felt.
He looked up slowly with tears in his eyes.
"They are-- putting her to sleep."
We started hearing growls and barks from outside. We quickly started looking thru the small crack in our cage.
There was mom. She was tied to a tree and being hold on by the two rotts.
"Momm!!" We both cried over and over.
Then the scientist came over. He had the same sharp tool he had the other day when he was cutting trees.
Mom looked over to us then back to the scientist.
"Goodbye, Thing 0."
We both covered our eyes as he swung his tool at her. Last thing we heard was a yelp from our mom.
