The baby gave me no mercy the past few weeks until the first trimester ended. Finally today was no more puke day. I had taken a long nice shower-puke free- before strolling downstairs to fix myself some breakfast. It was a toast with vanilla ice-cream on top. Blame it on the baby.

I had started working at Ben's Restaurant yesterday. It was my second part time job that was gratefully flexible with my schedule unlike one at the convenience store down the blocks, but first thing to do today was go to class.

I couldn't afford to have a car right now as I had to save up for the baby that would come. So, walking was my only option. Thank god I was not that type of girls who loved wearing heels.

The class went by smoothly as it would ever be. I had decided that since I had paid for the semester I would continue my study despite hate and glares I constantly received. Money was hard to find and so did knowledge, hence I would rock this year and graduate as a single mother even if it was going to be hard.

I looked up as I snapped out of my reverie. In a quite far distance, a guy dressed nicely in tux walked towards me with his full attention on the phone. The face was familiar, but I couldn't pinpoint who and where I had met him.

His gaze turned to the crossroad in front of us as he stood next to me, waiting for the green light to light up. When it did, people rushed towards the other side of the road, making me lost my balance. This time I couldn't react fast enough, but a firm grip on my upper arm stopped me from falling flat on my face.

"Careful," he said before taking his leave. My arm throbbed due to his tight grip. I kept thinking about him as I picked some stuff that managed to fall out of my bag.

Unknowingly I had been in the middle of the highway long enough that cars started honking. I sighed. I had been to occupied with my mind lately. I could die soon if I keep it up.

The Ben's Restaurant neon sign lit up even if it was only half past five. I could see that the place was pretty packed with people enjoying their meals or just sitting down and talk. I pushed the door open and the bell tinkled, but it was drown by the noises.

I headed to the back as fast as I could and started helping Sara, the only waiter at Ben's. It was a busy and sweaty job, but it was done by eight which was perfect, so I could leave and get ready for another job. Not before serving myself a meal from the restaurant as I could get 10% off of course.

The shift I had at the store was cut short as there were only a few people did get in. Hence, I got to leave at eleven thirty. On my way back home with an ice cream in my hand and wrapping myself with my not so thick sweater, my mind drifted back to the guy from this evening.

I knew it! No wonder he was so familiar, he was the one whom I bumped into on the day I found out I really am pregnant. Those striking blue eyes that made me so intimidated yet left me feeling secured.
