Olivia Martez first met her three years into her marriage and exactly two years prior to her divorce.

She went by the name 'Diana'. A name befitting the image she desired to portray.

Diana came into her life just as abruptly as she had barged into Diana's. And it took Olivia quite some time to figure out Ms. Harlow- Diana Harlow – had not in fact barged in; she had never left in the first place.

Olivia did not recall much about the day.

It had begun in such an uneventful way that even her memory didn't find it important.

This was an assumption she both regretted and cherished a few years later.

She remembered the date though; January 14, 2016.

It was the day, Sandra Benoit – a renowned celebrity makeup artist at the time- had launched

'KRIÓS'; currently the world's leading makeup brand for men.

Besides, Sandra was also a close family friend.

It was an event of much interest to the media and had received high coverage due to Sandra's controversial statements during the promotional campaign. When it came to PR stunts Sandra never needed managers.

This was still a huge risk on Sandra's part who had had a clear and smooth career till then.

At the time, it was considered a rebellion against social norms for having such huge household names incorporated with it.

And everyone wanted a part of that limelight; including Olivia's father-in-law.

It was upon his order that Marc tagged along with Olivia to the after launch party that night.

Hiding their worst, they dressed in their best.

Olivia smiled like the perfect wife and Marc gazed at her with utmost love;

And when the spotlight shifted from them, they relaxed.

Upon entering the venue, they were welcomed by the host herself.

"Olivia! It has been so long!" Sandra blew air kisses on both her cheeks before her eyes fell on Marc.

Perhaps, it was just her but Olivia noticed how Sandra's smile dimmed a bit; it was only for a few seconds though.

She immediately started teasing them about their close proximity, "Come on, it's been three years already and you're still in the honeymoon phase!"

In response, Marc pulled her even closer and flashed Sandra a smirk before nuzzling into her hair. Sandra just rolled her eyes before excusing herself to greet the others.

"She really went all out, didn't she?" Marc whistled under his breathe, eyeing up the grandeur of the party. "She even got a few A-listers to attend."

"It's Sandra, Marc." Olivia rolled her eyes, "She either goes grand or doesn't."

Marc heaved a sigh and gestured for a waiter, "You're right." He took two goblets of wine and handed one to her, "Let's get this over with." He downed his glass in one go and guided her towards a few people of his knowing.

While Marc chatted up potential investors and clients, Olivia's mind wondered back to Sandra.

She had an almost stiff and awkward reaction towards Marc. Even if it was just her imagination, Olivia had noticed that Sandra also hadn't greeted Marc.

On top of it all, the invitation card didn't state his name either; only Olivia's name was there which was unusual. Marco was basically there as an extended guest without knowing.

Olivia heaved out a huge sigh causing Marc to glance towards her, "Are you alright? Do you want to freshen up a bit?" he asked with concern.

Olivia decided to decline the offer but nodded the last moment; she felt too distracted to listen to the conversation.

She sauntered towards the bar and took a sit on a stool; it was not comfortable as she was wearing a tight cocktail dress.

"Do you serve water?"

The bartender smiled apologetically, "Sorry, Ma'am. We don't." he then added, "Would you like anything else?"

She pondered for a bit, "Give me something strong then."

"Done with the party already?" A voice spoke from beside her. Olivia glanced at the woman beside her with a startle.

The woman had a bob cut and had straight teeth; overall, she looked a bit over fifty.

"How rude of me to not introduce myself! I'm Dakota Maier."

Olivia's eyes widened as she recognized the woman, "Nice to meet you. I'm Olivia Martez, Managing Director o-"

"You're Jonathon's daughter-in-law, right?" the woman smiled at her, "Sorry, I couldn't make it to your wedding last year..."

Olivia opened her mouth to inform the woman that it had already been three years since her wedding but she was cut off by another voice, "Ladies and Gentlemen, if I could gather your attention please..." Sandra spoke into the mic.

"...KRIÓS is a brand solely focusing on cosmetics and other beauty essentials for male. It represents a protest against the unnecessary gender roles that have been imposed on both man and woman..." A few people applauded in encouragement.

"...Our products are only being launched in North America and East Asia for the time being. But I hope we can go for a worldwide release in near future and that's definitely not possible without your support. Thank you once again for celebrating the event with us." Sandra stepped aside from the mic and approached them at the bar as the crowd erupted in loud applause.

"You did amazing!" Olivia gushed and Sandra smiled gratefully, "I see, you've already met Dakota!" she blew air kisses on the woman's cheek.

"By the way, I'm surprised you came." She informed Dakota, "So many releases this week."

"Tell me about it. The quality of movies have gone downhill nowadays and I blame all the casting directors for this." Dakota sneered, "I mean, models are not actors! Why cast- DIANA!"

Suddenly, the woman flailed her arms in the air wildly; calling someone. Olivia glanced towards where Dakota was looking at. She doubted anyone could hear the call over the loud music that had started playing.

But Dakota wasn't one to give up easily. She stomped towards the dance floor and dragged out a woman with dark hair; the woman seemed familiar and Olivia was sure she had seen her on TV once as well but couldn't pin point her name.

She noticed out of the corner of her eyes that Sandra had gotten immensely tensed upon the new arrival.

"Did you just arrive from the- you look worn out." Dakota commented on the woman's appearance.

But she seemed unfazed, "Actually, yes. Straight down from the premiere in Australia." She also had a slight accent.

The woman glanced towards Olivia and Dakota jumped in to introduce them, "Oh! You must know her. She was the Runner Up in Miss Universe 2013!" she asked Olivia and then snidely added, "Sad she lost though; I was rooting for her."

The woman dismissed the remark, "Hello, I'm Diana Harlow."

'Oh yeah! Diana Harlow...the Brazilian supermodel!'

Olivia realized.

Before she could introduce herself, Sandra nudged Diana to the side. Meanwhile, Dakota took her leave to go and converse with Lim Marković.

And Olivia was left wondering why her drink hadn't arrived yet when an arm snaked around her waist, "Looking for this?"

She jumped in surprise but relaxed after seeing Marc, "What are you doing with my drink?"

"You're a lightweight, Olivia. I really don't want to end the night with a drunken wife." Marc downed the drink and hid his face into her hair.

One thing she had learnt throughout the three years of her marriage was, a drunk Marc was a clingy Marc.

"You're drunk yourself, Marc." She shook her head and glanced towards the dance floor. Music was blaring out as women in short dressed and men wearing questionable attires in the name of 'Fashion' dropped the act of formality and embraced their inner dancing guru.

Olivia smiled as Diana approached her once again with a distressed Sandra trailing behind, "I'm so sorry for that rude inte-"she stopped midway as her eyes fell on Olivia's shoulder or rather past her shoulder.

She followed Diana's line of vision and found it to be on her husband, Marc; who himself had a flabbergasted expression painted on his face.

Suddenly, Marc retracted from her as if her skin had scorned him.

Olivia glanced at the two of them with confusion and noticed Sandra's ashen face behind Diana.

"Do you guys know each other?"
