Жовтогаряче полум'я тремтить в душі і в серці, І завіває вітер, а за вікном - мороз, Думки вже десь далеко йдуть по лісній стежці Чекають новий рік, його новий прогноз. І кожен третій вірш про зиму і майбутнє свято, Хоч люди навкруги як завжди сірі і ніякі І кожен хоче взяти від життя собі багато, Хоча не всі того отримають, бо люди є усякі. В душі тремтить вогонь, а в серці - ціле полум'я, І навіть білий сніг не хтів його тушить, Хоч бачило його лиш срібне світло полудня, Та кожен знав і вірив в ту прекрасну мить. І на душі спокійно буває дуже рідко, І кожен третій не умів того цінить. Амур стріляє в серце боляче і мітко, Але мені, чомусь, не зміг він так вцілить.

I saw a dream, and there were you, And there was coldness in your eyes. I wonder what a kind of true Made you become as cold as ice. And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last. You looked at me, and peering in your soul, I felt so lonely, as something vital died. And that is what I fear most of all - That nothing gentle will remain inside. Inside of you. Inside of me as well. And nothing will be said to farewell.
